Dear Venomland Members and Friends, Venomland is a little more than 6 years old now and by far the biggest Hot Snake community on the Planet! We want to thank all of you who made Venomland the leading Board. We are also very thankful to our Moderators and Admins for years of hard work. Now, it is time to move on. I have been thinking how to proceed and what to do with our beloved board as we reach a size, that we need to make drastic changes to secure the future of our community. As of now, Venomland is hosted by a free (well mostly free) hosting service. That was good for the first years but now we need to find a new way to run our forum. I have spend hundreds of Dollars over the years to keep Venomland up and running, and i have done so with pleasure. Now, we need your help! We need to come up with several thousand dollars for our Venomland 2.0 project, which i frankly cant pay for any longer by myself. So Venomland is asking his Friends and Members for the first time for their financial Support. Please help to keep Venomland alive, and let us move on to a new, better Portal in the Future! Every Dollar is helping us a great deal. I know, its hard times for everyone, but please spare a few Dollar for our community. If you have only 10 Dollars to spare, we are grateful, if it is more, it would be awesome. We are planning to develop a very new Venomland, with real community functions, a forum like you are already loving it and a real (online) Hot Snake Magazin. Also, there will be download areas for scientific papers, Wallpapers and more. Again folks, we can only do that if you all help. Please send me a Private Message if you want to keep Venomland alive, i will provide you with the details on how to donate Money. For now, we can accept money from creditcards via skrill (please google it, its a free service - account-details will be forwarded to you) and paypal. All the best, and for a (hopefully) nice future of our Board. Mario

PostSubject: some daylight photos of my collection   Tue 26 Apr - 6:14

today I finally did something I was planning for some time now - take some snakes outdoor and do some daylight photos. It is such a huge difference in colors! You can never get that in terrariums with tungsten and flo light no matter how hard you try.
Today my wife was visiting a friend, my son was at grandmother, dogs and cats were in the yard.... all far away Smile)... and I set up my "studio" in front of garage and as I was feeding the snakes and taking them out of cages anyway, after they feed and they were more calm I put them out and here are the results...
Eventhough some of them just need to shed, like polistictus female, horridus female, for example, and some still did not shed after hibernation, like molossus.... I think the results are still rather spectacular. It makes me think about building outdoor cages Smile))) but my wife would kill me so I will stick to just taking some photos now and then.
When the next feeding cames I will take "the big guns" out like nigrescens, adamanteus, culminatus... Smile)

enjoy!

Very nice animals you have there, that natural light just can't be beat in my opinion. Build your outdoor cages & get the wife involved in the landscaping, that might bring her around to your way of thinking-if that doesn't work buy her something-ha ha. All the best.

An outstanding collection of snakes, Mr. Vrbanic. Beautiful specimens, the Crotalus in particular- the horridus specifically(please excuse my personal bias). Thanks for posting this. Sincerely, Jon Davidson .

Lovely collection, some beautiful snakes.

For someone with a very limited knowledge on Rattlesnakes it would've been nice to see names for each pic Neven. Maybe next time Smile

Thank you again all for your nice comments. Today I fed my nigrescens (2.1) and since the wheather was nice I decided to take few pics of my favourite rattlers. My adult pair is CB 2006 (male and first 3 pics) and female on the last pic) and small male (4th pic) is their son from CB 2009. Female refused food and she looks rather big so I am hoping for some babies again this year Smile

Nigel, nigrescens can be from light brown to black and everything in between with more or less white markings. My adult male is rather dark with a lot of black and high in contrast. Marvelous animal but deffinatelly among toughest rattlers to handle! Smile They are always hungry and they greed makes them came to you as soon as you oper terrarium and bite everything and anything that cames close..

And last but not list Vipera ammodytes ammodytes, locality central Croatia (I will not disclose exact locality because it is rather small Smile). I keep a big group of ammodytes from only this small Croatian locality. I have breed them for many years and by pairing up specific animals I got some really nice ammodytes offsprings. Their diversity in colors and patherns is just unbelivable, at least to me.
I applogise that some of the pics are a bit blury but they just like to "get-lost" fast! Smile
